LoveandOAS Blog Goals 2017

Right, I know it's almost the middle of the month, and everyone else posted their 2017 goals ages ago, but I'm a perfectionist and was waiting for the perfect thing to put in my photos! And now it's here, my photos are done, and here we are :-).

I have another post coming soon that is kind of a new year themed thing (don't worry it's NOT "New Year, New Me") but this one is all about my goals for the blog this year, so let's see shall we...

2017,bando,very busy, journal, schedule, calendar, busy b, thatlamecompany, take time, unicorns, jingle bells, typography, wreath

So I wrote here about how I had picked a word of the year and how it had really helped me reassess the way I manage my time, since I gave myself that focus everything has felt so much easier, and I've been able to make time to prioritise these goals. Some are of course follower related but I have kept the numbers relatively low (except the pageviews one because a girl can dream right). I don't like to focus on numbers but I do like to have something to keep track of my growth so I have set these goals:

Twitter: 2000 followers---only 454 to go!!
Instagram: 600 followers
Facebook: 300----why is it so hard to grow on Facebook!?!
Pageviews: 100,000---just, yeah like I said, a girl can dream!

I also set little personal goals for the blog and for my interactions with other bloggers:

Post Schedule: At least once a week. I know that many post 3 or 4 times a week, but I work full time, as well as suffer from chronic illness and putting to much pressure on myself can actually cause me physical pain (I know! How shitty an illness is that?) so I refuse to do it. I may post more than once a week but for now that is the goal.

Remember to schedule tweets!!- I always forget to do this, and it can be very time consuming. But in the long run I think it is a very important aspect of social media sharing, so from now on I'm going to set aside a little time each week to schedule my butt off.

Advertise on someone else's blog at least once a quarter.- working with other bloggers is so good for you! Not only do you get to know that you are helping someone make a little change, you are also getting a range of benefits. For instance this month I've been advertising with Dorkface and already I can see direct visits from her page to mine, followers are growing quicker than usual, and I hit 100 likes for the first time ever on Instagram after she shared my post. And we're only 13 days in! Highly recommended-but be quick because she books up fast...I booked today and the next available space was MAY!!

I have also set myself goals that pertain to other bloggers and how I can help them achieve their goals:

Comment on at least 10 posts a week. I think sometimes we forget how easy it is just to leave a wee comment after reading a post. We all know how good it feels when we receive a comment so I'm spreading the love.

Share at least 3 other bloggers posts every week. Be it through re-tweeting, direct linking, or posting to the blog Facebook page.

And finally the most personal goal of all:

Attend at least TWO events. I really struggle with social anxiety, and attending events scares the crap out of me. Not to mention that most of them require me to travel far and wide which wreaks havoc with my Fibro so I always end up in pain, and a bit scared. However I have a secret weapon...my bestie Fiona a fellow blogger at Wishes, Hopes and Dreams , She is always eager to attend events with me, and is a genius at making sure I'm relaxed and not pushing myself too hard. So this year I'm hoping we can both attend at least two, and maybe one day I'll attend one on my own haha.

And with a little bit of help from my handy Bullet Journal (post on that coming soon) I have this bad boy to keep track of my follower goals. Wish me luck!

Do you have any goals for this year? Feel free to link to them in the comments and I'll have a read! Happy 2017 GUYS!!

  3. Yeah why is Facebook so hard to grow?? I agree with that one. I do pretty much all the above except the last one. I've never been to a blog event yet mostly due to my anxiety but partly to my work commitments also. I want 2017 to be the year I get to one though! 🙌🏻 Xx

    1. I think it's because Facebook as a whole sucks! They want you to pay for growth so are making it harder and harder to do it organically, which sucks but we'll find a way to make it work.
I am the same with events hun, and honestly if it wasn't for Fiona I'd probably never go. She's my rock. Fingers crossed you manage to get to one this year, and you never know we might even get to go to the same one and then we can be scared and awkward together!! Haha. Ajxx
